Betting Tip: Washington Redskins v. Arizona Cardinals – NFL Week 6

Washington Redskins v. Arizona Cardinals – NFL Week 6 – 10.12.14

After the news of Carson Palmer starting, the line jumped from -3 Cardinals to -6. I was already contemplating on taking the Skins before the news, and now that the line has jumped so high – I’m on board. Carson Palmer will be rusty, and he’s not even a good QB to begin with.

The key matchup, I feel, is that the Skins have the 5th ranked pass offense, up against the Cardinals 31st ranked pass defense. Anyone who watched the Broncos pummel the Cardinals last week saw how Manning lit up the Arizona secondary for a personal record 479 passing yards (surprised he’s never thrown for more than that actually). Demaryius Thomas had 226 yards and 2 TD’s, and he had a third TD from 77-yards out that was called back on offsetting penalties. The damage could have been worse.

Minus the Giants game, Skins QB Kirk Cousins has been putting up big numbers. RG3’s injury has been a blessing in disguise. Cousins is a better QB than RG3. He has a couple big weapons in Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson. The Skins have allowed a lot of points, but their defense is 10th in the league in average yards allowed (10th against the pass and 15th against the run) – so they are not as bad as it seems, at least according to the stats. The Cardinals offense has not been that great, as they are ranked 29th overall in average yards per game, and 22nd overall in points scored. I’ll take a chance on the Skins +6 at -105 (5Dimes).
