Betting Tip: San Francisco 49ers v. St. Louis Rams – NFL Week 6 – Monday Night Football

San Francisco v. St. Louis Rams – NFL Week 6 – 10.13.14

After their shaky start, losing to the Bears and Cardinals in weeks two and three – the 49ers have righted the ship with two straight wins over the Eagles and Chiefs – and are 3-2 on the season. Despite the injuries and suspensions on defense, they have the 2nd best defense in the league – and have consistently been one of the best defenses in the NFL over the past few seasons. They have a balanced defense, which is 4th overall against the pass and 5th overall against the run. On the other side of the ball, Frank Gore continues to defy father time, and again leads the Niners smash-mouth run attack – which is 3rd best in the league. The Niners will pound the ball against the Rams 29th ranked run defense. The Rams have a decent passing game, but that will be negated by the Niners formidable pass rush – which will pressure Austin Davis all night. I think the Niners will respond to all the Harbaugh job security and “broken locker room” rumors with a statement win on the big Monday Night stage. The Niners are a Super Bowl contender, and will only get better as they get healthier on defense – and get Aldon Smith back from suspension. I don’t think this game will be even close, and I’ll wager on both 49ers First Half -2.5 (-110) and 49ers -3 (-117) (5Dimes) full game.
